Launceston Junior Golf
OUR MISSION STATEMENT - To provide the opportunity for juniors of all levels of ability, age and gender to play golf in a safe, friendly and welcoming environment - To create an environment in which Juniors will grow not only in their golfing skills but in all as-pects of their development socially, emotionally and cognitively. Consequently developing their interpersonal skills that can be enjoyed for the rest of their lives. - To make sure that Junior Golf is a happy and positive experience. The Junior Captain and Junior Organiser represent the members whose wishes and interests are considered and supported at all times.
THE JUNIORS
The Juniors form an active section that is a fully integrated part of the Club. Our members range in age and ability and benefit from lots of opportunities to play in competitive and fun competitions as well as meet up just to play a few holes.
COMPETITIONS
There are lots of opportunities throughout the year to play competitive and fun golf both at home and away at other clubs.
Juniors’ Practice Day
The Juniors Practice Day is Sunday when the tee is usually reserved from 13.30 to 13.50pm and entries are booked on-line using BRS golf or through notifying the Junior Organiser or the professional. (Times may vary depending on format of morning club competitions). In alternate weeks, the practice session is preceded by coaching with the Professional.
School holidays
Juniors have the opportunity to play each Wednesday through school holidays with the tee usually reserved from 13.30pm. Where the field is of three or more players then the round will form a com-petition with a winner for that day. The cards of all players through the summer school holidays will also count towards an eclectic competition with the winner confirmed at the end of the holiday.
Club competitions
Juniors with active handicaps of 28 or below are able to play in the any of the club competitions, typically played on a Sunday morning.
Cornwall League
The Junior Organiser arranges the matches, which are played in teams of five, with a format of sin-gles match play, full handicap difference.
